Portfolio Management Actuary

Our client is seeking a motivated actuary to join their team and lead portfolio management activities. This dynamic role involves driving evidence-based decisions through portfolio analytics, optimizing reinsurance strategies, and collaborating across actuarial, underwriting, claims, and business intelligence teams. You will play a key role in shaping business planning processes, developing visualization tools, and contributing to wider actuarial workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead portfolio management and optimization processes to maximize return on capital.
• Provide analytics to support and challenge business planning assumptions.
• Evaluate and optimize reinsurance structures and new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with pricing, reserving, and capital teams to provide insights and input.
• Monitor portfolio performance to understand drivers of underwriting results.
• Develop metrics and dashboards for enhanced decision-making.
• Oversee and mentor a portfolio management analyst, with potential team growth.
• Ensure processes are efficient, auditable, and align with best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in portfolio management, capital, pricing, or reinsurance.
• Nearly/Newly or fully qualified FIA (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in SQL, R/Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of predictive analytics, data governance, and process automation.
• Experience in the Lloyd’s/London Market (preferred but not essential).
• Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and a collaborative work ethic.
