Capital Actuary

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Capital Actuary to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Capital Modelling, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing capital models across multiple entities, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role offers exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence business planning and risk management strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and run internal capital models, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on capital planning, portfolio optimization, and reinsurance strategies.
• Lead regulatory submissions and contribute to model validation and governance processes.
• Engage with stakeholders across underwriting, finance, and risk teams to communicate insights and support decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement by refining models and automating processes.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to foster development and collaboration.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Strong capital modelling expertise, ideally with experience in Tyche or similar tools.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and innovative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fully qualified FIA or equivalent (or close to completion).
• Familiarity with programming tools such as SQL, R, or Python is beneficial.
• Experience in the Lloyd’s market or a similar insurance environment is a plus.
